MVP leads PRISAA opening

-

MANILA, Philippines - The 2012 PRISAA (Private Schools Athletic Association) National College Games unwraps with a big bang on April 22-28 in Cebu City with the country’s leading businessman and sports patron Manuel V. Pangilinan as guest of honor and main speaker.

Pangilinan, head of giant telecommunications firm PLDT/Smart and many other top corporations, has agreed to become honorary chairperson of the sportsfest which was organized on Feb. 17, 1953 and revived on July 2, 1990.

Through the collegiate competition among private schools, Pangilinan expects to see the development of new, talented sportsmen and women who could eventually carry the country’s colors in international competitions.

“We are grateful for Mr. (Manny V.) Pangilinan’s acceptance of our offer for him to be our honorary chair,” said PRISAA national chairman and former CHED head Emmanuel Angeles.  “His presence will definitely inspire our young athletes to improve their performance and excel in their respective sports.”

Angeles added: “Competition is a great venue to develop self-discipline, responsibility and integrity among our young people.”

A veteran marketing executive, Baby Bringas-Apruebo, has been named by PRISAA to help drum up support for the sportsfest. He may be contacted at 0917-7576767 or emailed at [email protected].
