SMB to give 6 fans chance to meet Pacquiao

-

MANILA, Philippines - Six fight fans will get the rare chance to sit down with the world’s No. 1 pound for pound king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and learn firsthand how he fought American Sugar Shane Mosley for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight championship.

Even before the opening bell for the much-awaited May 7 (May 8 in Manila) fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, San Miguel Brewery Inc. (SMB) has thought of a way to bring Filipinos closer to the Filipino boxing icon, who is expected to regale lucky fans with stories over bottles of ice cold-San Miguel Beer.

The promo, dubbed “SMB Wala Kang Katulad”, is the first-of-its-kind for Pacquiao. Given his status, most Filipinos only get to see him either on television or from afar, at ticker tape parades or his occasional public appearances.

“Nothing beats the thrill of spending some time with Manny Pacquiao, a boxing hero, a self-made champion, the Filipino pride. Our consumer promo is one way of further delighting our loyal San Miguel Beer friends. We hope they will be inspired by Manny’s personal stories of hard work, great faith and love for his roots,” said SMB president Roberto Huang.

To join the promo, fight fans need to watch the Pacquiao-Mosley fight live in any of San Miguel Beer’s Viewing Parties in 160 bars and restaurants nationwide.

Every purchase of any three San Miguel Beer brands at the designated SMB partner establishments, the consumer is entitled to one raffle stub for a chance to win one of six slots in the meet and greet session. Limited edition T-shirts signed by Pacquiao will also be given away as raffle prizes.
