Disabled pugs to get PSA doleouts today

Twenty destitute and disabled professional boxers from Metro Manila will receive financial assistance from the Disabled Boxers’ Trust Fund today at the Games and Amusement Board’s main office, second floor, Legaspi Towers 200 along Paseo de Roxas, Makati City.

Sen. Robert Jaworski, Rep. Monico Puentevella and former GAB secretary Atty. Rodrigo Salud head the special guests during the doleout which starts promptly at 2 p.m.

GAB chairman Eduardo Villanueva, who is also head of the Disabled Boxers’ Trust Fund Board of Trustees and his two-members — Philippine Boxing Association president Gov. Raul Daza and Philippine Sportswriters Association president Roberto Cuevas — will supervise the fund distribution.

The list of beneficiaries is led by former world champion Pretty Boy Lucas.

Also receiving financial aid today are George Tam, Rey Tam, Peter Siscon, Manuel Irinco, Manuel Zayas, Alexander Chan, Monico Gallego, Armando Boniquit, Carlito Fajardo, Rolando Obrino, Janjan Gegataras, Leonardo Pablo, Gil Greta, Rey Zulueta, Cristituto Amorando, Leodegario Macalintal, Ben Escobar, Romeo Obliosca and Benjamin Carillo.

Forty-three other disabled pugs from the provinces, led by ex-world titlists Rolando Navarette, Rene Barrientos, Dommy Ursua and Bernanbe Villacampo, will also receive assistance from the Trust Fund set up through the Fiesta Fistiana boxing promotion conducted by the PSA.
