Kolumnista nananawagan sa sinapit sa Metrodeal

Inilapit sa akin ng entertainment columnist at publicist na si Shirley Pizarro ang naging problema niya sa Metrodeal, isang Internet marketing company na may advertisement sa Facebook.

Limang buwan na ang nakalilipas mula nang mag-book si Shirley ng package trip sa Palawan pero hanggang ngayon, hindi pa natutuloy ang bakasyon niya dahil sa mga kapalpakan na nangyari.

   Hindi lamang si Shirley ang nagkaroon ng sad experience sa transaction niya sa Metrodeal dahil may ibang mga tao pa na nagreklamo nang mabasa ang kanyang written complaint.

Hinihingi ni Shirley ang tulong ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) na pinamumunuan ni Secretary Gergory Domingo para mabigyan ng kasagutan ang kanyang reklamo laban sa Metrodeal. Ito ang kopya ng kuwento ng karanasan ni Shirley sa Metrodeal at ang apela niya sa DTI:

“The Internet marketing company called metrodeal.com should be be penalized for the disservice that they do to their customers.

“We are a victim of a botched transaction with metrodeal.com. We booked a package trip to Palawan for two persons last Nov. 23, 2011, (payment confirmation on voucher nos. METV45A5EC08C17A and METV858D61B94032) paid to Metrodeal Inc. via our Citibank credit card and made the necessary arrangements with Indochina Strings Travel Agency. The travel agency communicated to us once only to say that among the dates we gave them, we are being earmarked for the second choice schedule we gave them (Feb. 11-13, 2012). We never heard from them again except when we were already making complaints about not getting any communication from them on Feb. 10.

  “After apologies and profused promises were made by a certain Cherry and his manager Javier Parra, both of Indochina Strings, to make our boo­kings right, the travel agency was never able to deliver the service that we paid for and to this day, still refuses to refund us the P11,998 Metrodeal, Inc. charged us for that specific package tour in Palawan.

“Indochina Travel’s manager Javier Parra even arrogantly told us that it is Metrodeal who is supposed to refund us and not them and even washes its hand off the responsibility. Metrodeal through all of this fiasco, has remained silent and has yet to make any communication with us.

“Worst part is, a very good friend of ours, Pastor Nett Gochuico and his wife Bang of Cavite, also had the same unfortunate experience with Metrodeal when they booked for a trip to Mindoro. Nothing materialized also and they dealt with a different travel agency. They have yet to receive their refund as well.

“Who knows how many other unsuspecting victims are out there? Facebook should also take the heed and think twice about those advertisements of Metrodeal that appears on its page. We booked this package precisely after seeing the advertisement on Facebook. They should be warned. Paging Department of Trade and Industry or whoever can stop this scam.”

Bukas ang column ko para sa paliwanag ng Metrodeal at ng Indochina Strings, kahit nasa lugar si Shirley para mag-emote dahil nganga siya sa paghihintay sa resulta ng kanyang booking, five months ago pa.
