Susunod sa yapak ni Margielyn hahanapin

MANILA, Philippines — Mayroon pang mga susunod na Margielyn Didal ang Pilipinas.

Ito ang nagkakaisang paniniwala nina Skateboarding and Roller Sports Association of the Philippines Inc. president Monty Mendigoria at Go For Gold godfather Jeremy Go.

“Because we know in every province, in every baranggay and in every sitio there is a good skateboarder,” sabi kahapon ni Mendigoria na makakatuwang si Go para sa pagdaraos ng 2019 Go For Gold Philippines Skateboarding Regional Championships.

Ang nasabing torneo ay gagamitin para sa pagpili ng mga kakatawan sa bansa sa 30th Southeast Asian Games sa Nobyembre 30-Disyembre 11.

Itinakda ang Luzon leg sa Marso 23-24 sa Robinsons Mall, Novaliches kasunod ang Visayas leg sa Abril 6-7 sa Cebu City at ang Mindanao leg sa Mayo 25-26 sa General Santos City.

Ang mga regional champions ay maglalaban sa National SEA Games qua­lifier sa Agosto 24-25 sa Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

“The top three participants from the regionals will get the chance to prove their worth in the national SEA Games qualifying championship,’’ pahayag ni Mendigoria.

Sumikat ang skateboarding sa bansa matapos mag-uwi ng gold medal si Didal sa nakaraang Asian Games.

“We feel that Margie and the skateboarding team will become our bright lights in the 2020 Olympics, and hopefully they can bring home our first Olympic gold medal,’’ wika ni Go.
