Enrile inaming inirekomenda ang isang BoC official

MANILA, Philippines - Inamin kahapon ni Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile na inirekomenda niya ang promotion ni Port of Manila district collector Rogel Gatchalian pero itinanggi nito na nakakuha siya ng pabor dahil sa kanyang ginawa.

Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Enrile na totoong gumawa siya ng rekomendasyon pero hindi niya ito personal na kakilala at inilapit lamang sa kanya.

“Alam mo ang katotohanan nun, hindi ko kilala yun eh. Ngayon, somebody approached me if I could help him to get an item, a rank, higher than what he had,” sabi ni Enrile.

Naghahangad umano noon si Gatchalian na malagay bilang Collector VI kaya inirekomenda niya ito pero hindi niya sinabing ilagay ito sa Maynila.

Ayon pa kay Enrile, ang Malacañang ang naglabas ng appointment ni Gatchalian bilang Customs’s Collector VI.

 â€œI think he was aspiring to be a Collector VI and so I recommended him to be promoted to Collector VI. I did not recommend him for Manila. Then, when his appointment came, it was Malacañang that issued an appointment giving him the rank of Custom’s Collector VI  Vice Suansing who was retiring from the port of Manila. So, it was, he did not asked for that eh, “ paliwanag ni Enrile.

Si Horacio Suansing ang dating deputy commissioner.

Pinaalalahanan pa umano ni Enrile si Gatchalian na huwag siyang ipapahiya at dapat itong tumulong para tumaas ang koleksyon sa port of Manila.

Nangyari umano ang rekomendasyon ni Enrile noong panahon ni dating pangulong Gloria Arroyo.
