- Vinia Vivar - Pang-masa

“Wisdom. Pure wisdom. Respect for Kitchie has quintupled.

“Would you hire a murderer to look after your kids? Would you invite a thief to look after your home? In this case, would you, who was born and raised a Filipino with the values and morals set and taught to you by past generations, appoint a president who completely rejects the morals we Filipino’s are known for? Family. Faith. Tact.

“I’m sorry, but leadership does not justify compromise.

“This is the sad reality. The Philippines’ greatest weakness isn’t the government anymore, it’s the people who so eagerly, desperately and blindly fall for anything that looks and sounds good. No doubt, Duterte is a leader who leads, and leads well. But what about the model and nature in which that leadership is put across? Doesn’t that matter anymore? I respect him for his honesty and eagerness to lead our country back on track, but I cannot support his morality.

“No matter how great you are at what you do, your character is what will define you and what you leave behind when everything is said and done.

“Kudos, Kitchie.

“The backlash is very bad.

“So I had to say something and even though I didn’t agree to everything that he said, siyempre, he’s my family, eh, before anything, kailangan kong i-defend ‘yung pamilya ko, whether or not he’s right or he’s wrong kung sobra naman ‘yung response, kung bastos naman talaga ‘yung mga tao, kailangan ko talagang ipagtanggol,” dagdag pa ni Paolo.

“We don’t talk about it so much but I know they are affected. Only ‘coz maraming bastos na respond. Alam mo ‘yung pinagmumumura kami, tapos pag tiningnan namin ‘yung account nila, from Manila, from Bicol, mga ganu’n. So, we can’t generalize naman na lahat, taga-Davao, and I think, that was one of my mistakes na online sinabi ko na some Davaoenos, nagalit sila agad sa akin, pinagmumura rin ako kasi sabi nila nag-generalize daw ako na just because supporters ni Duterte, automatically taga-Davao. So right now, I’m very careful with what I’m saying.

“I’m not generalizing. Pero like I said to the people online, it doesn’t matter who you for, whether for Mar (Roxas), Duterte, Binay, kung mali ka, mali ka. Kung bastos ka, bastos ka.

“And they shouldn’t be defensive na ganu’n.

“It’s not tulad ng sinabi ng bashers namin na pinag-iinitan daw namin si Duterte which is not the case. I even said that I kind of like him (sa Twitter),” pahayag pa ng panganay na anak ni Gary V.

‘Yun ‘yung nakakatakot. And because nga of so many supporters, it is a little scary. And when I saw the response, those threats to him, I was afraid for my brother.”

“So, I texted his wife na baka pwedeng for our sake, just let it cool down first sa post. It is not a very safe time. We’re not immune from everything that’s going on right now,” say ni Pao.

In fairness to Gary, wala pa rin siyang kupas at talagang nakasabay sa taas ng boses ng The Voice of the Philippines Season 1 grand winner.
