MANILA, Philippines — Nadagdagan ang ko­leksiyon ng Team Philippines matapos humirit ng tansong medalya si cyclist Patrick Coo sa 19th Asian Games na ginaganap sa Hangzhou, China.

Galing ang tanso ni Coo sa men’s individual BMX racing kahapon sa CSC BMX Course.

Nagrehistro si Coo ng 39.076 segundo upang makuha ang tansong medalya.

“I’m very happy but hur­ting for sure. I ripped my pants in the process and got it fixed immediately,” ani Coo.

Nanguna si gold meda­list Asuma Nakai ng Japan habang pumangalawa si silver medalist at Southeast Asian Games champion Komet Sukprasert ng Thailand.

Nagsumite si Nakai ng 37.542 segundo habang naglista naman si Sukpra­sert ng 38.478 segundo.

Nagkasya naman si Daniel Caluag sa ikaanim na puwesto matapos magposte ng 40.433 segundo.

Si Caluag ay gold me­dalist noong 2014 Incheon Asian Games habang nakatanso ito noong 2018 Jakarta Games.

“I feel very happy, I went straight to the biggest one, the Asian Games,” ani Coo.

Nagpasalamat si Coo kay Philippine Olympic Committee president Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino na siya ring pangulo ng PhilCycling.

“This could kick off more major accomplishments for Patrick. He’s only 21, so young, and he’s been trai­ning seriously and diligently the past year or so under the Olympic Solidarity prog­ram,” ani Tolentino.
