P117 milyon ipinamudmod ng PAGCOR sa mga SEA Games medallists

MANILA, Philippines — May kabuuang P117 milyon ang ipinamahagi ng Phi­lippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) sa mga medal winners sa katatapos na 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Personal na tinanggap ng mga atleta ang insentibo mula kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Malacañang Palace kung saan kasabay na ibinigay ng pangulo ang Order of Lapulapu.

“The blood, sweat, and tears that you have shed to earn this prestigious recognition is truly inspiring. I am really very happy to no end,” ani Duterte sa kanyang mensahe sa mga atleta.

Pinakamalaki ang nakuha nina multi-gold winners world champion gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo, cue masters Rubilen Amit at Chezka Centeno at trackster Kristina Marie Knott.

Nakasungkit si  Yulo ng dalawang ginto at limang pilak sa men’s artistic gymnastics para makatanggap ng P2.6 milyon mula kay Duterte, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at PAGCOR.

Nakasaad sa Republic Act 10699, na binibigyan ang gold medal winners ng P300,000, silver winners ng P150,000 at bronze winners ng P60,000.

Nagdagdag naman si Duterte ng kabuuang P21 milyong pabuya para sa mga atleta.

Sa kabuuan, humakot ang Pilipinas ng 149 ginto, 117 pilak at 121 tanso para tanghaling overall champion sa SEA Games.

“It is but fitting that we reward our sports heroes for a job well done. They did our country proud with their achievements and because of them, the Philippines is once again standing prominently in the international stage,” ani PAGCOR Chairman/CEO Andrea Domingo.
