MANILA, Philippines — Magpupulong ang mga sports ministers ng 10 miyembro ng Asean ka­­sama ang Japan sa 5th ASEAN Ministerial Mee­ting on Sports (AMMS-5) na magsisimula ngayong araw sa Maynila.

Tatakbo ang programa ng limang araw sa pangu­nguna ni Philippine Sports Commission chief William Ramirez na siyang chairman ng AMMS-5.

Layunin ng pagpupulong na pagtibayin ang ko­neksyon ng mga bansang dadalo gayundin ang pagpapalakas sa sports program ng bawat bansa.

“This is another chance to connect with our neighbors and together strengthen the foothold of sports in the everyday lives of our people,” ani Ramirez.

Dadalo sina His Excellency Sar Sokha, Cambodia; Mr. Phouvanh Vongsouthi, Lao PDR; Mr. Tan Wei Ming, Singapore; Ahmad Shapawi Bin Ismail, Ma­laysia; His Excellency Ami­nuddin Ihsan Pehn Da­to HJ Abidin, Brunei-Da­russalam; Mr. Mya Than Htike, Myanmar; Mr. Kumekawa Hirokazu, Japan; Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Viet­nam; at His Excellency Phi­phat Ratchakitprakarn. Thailand.

Ilan pa sa mga tatala­ka­yin ay ang implementasyon ng regional projects at activities na nakasaad sa ASEAN Work Plan on Sports for 2016-2020, ang ASEAN bid sa FIFA World Cup at pagtataguyod ng eSports SEA Foundation.

Idaraos sa unang pagkakataon bukas ang ASEAN plus Japan Meeting on Women and Sports at ang 2nd ASEAN Plus Japan SOMS.

Kasama rin ang mga de­legado ng UNESCO, SEARADO, FIFA, UN Wo­men, ASEAN Chess Fe­deration, ASEAN Para Sports Fede­ration, ASEAN Football Fe­deration at Right to Play Thailand Foundation.
