Mary Joy Tabal nidawat ‘Oly’ title

CEBU, Philippines — Walay hunong ang paghakot og award ni   Cebuana marathon queen Mary Joy Tabal  kay karong bag-o midawat siya sa “OLY” post-nominal designation gikan sa World Olympians Association (WOA).

Ang 26-anyos nga si Tabal gihatagan og certificate sa dalaygon niyang mga kalampusan. Si Tabal gitan-aw usab sa WOA nga usa ka elite Olympian. 

“For me, these are all products of my hard work in achieving my goals and dreams. It wasn’t made overnight and it takes a lot of sacrifices to be here,” matud pa ni Tabal. 

“And receiving such award and recognition truly inspire me to continue dreaming for more and to inspire more individuals especially the Filipinos.”     

Gitug-an ni Tabal nga nadawat niya ang WOA certificate niadto pang Disyembre sa miaging tuig, apan kagahapon pa niya nabantayan ang e-mail gikan sa WOA.

“OLY serves as a symbolic recognition of an Olympian’s status in society,  the OLY lettering will help to promote an Olympian's societal, charitable and community-based work, acting as a unifying reminder of their achievements and of their responsibility to embody the values of  Olympism in every day life,” unod sa suwat sa WOA ngadto ni Tabal.

Si Tabal maoy labing unang Pinay marathoner nga nakasalmot sa Olympics didto sa Rio De Janeiro, Brazil duha ka tuig na ang milabay. Mipuwesto siya sa ika-124 nga dapit.
