96th PSL National Series: Giron, Cusing nagpakita agad ng lakas, tig-2 ginto ang sinisid

MANILA, Philippines – Matikas ang arangkada nina Roger Dante Giron ng Mad Barracudas at Paula Carmela Cusing ng Diliman Preparatory School nang pangunahan ang mga gold medalist sa 96th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series Novice and Motivational Meet kahapon sa Diliman College swimming pool sa Quezon City.

Bumanat ng gintong medalya si Giron sa boys’ 15-over 100m Individual Medley nang maglista ito ng isang minuto at 8.09 segundo kasunod ang pamamayagpag sa 50m butterfly tangan ang 28.90 segundo.

Naramdaman din ang lakas ni Cusing nang sumisid din ito ng dalawang ginto sa girls’ 13-year event kung saan nangibabaw ito sa 100m IM (1:20.19) at 50m butterfly (34.15) sa torneong nilahukan ng mahigit 500 tankers.

Hataw din ng ginto sina Joanna Amor Cervas ng Aklan (girls’ 10-year 100m IM), Ruben White ng Bri­tish School Manila (boys’ 11-year 100m IM), Reina Nazareta ng Aklan (girls’ 11-year 100m IM), Aubrey Ybanez ng Cavite (girls’ 15-over 100m IM) at Karl Kervee Pastoril ng Diliman Preparatory School (boys’ 11-year 50m butterfly).

“It was a huge turnout. We’ve spotted a lot of good swimmers this edition and we’re happy that these young kids chose to continue their programs with us. We will be guiding them to achieve their best times and hopefully represent our country in international level in the future,” wika ni PSL President Susan Papa.

Nakasungkit din ng gintong medalya sina Richelle Callera, Chelsea Denise Pastolero, Nicole Camacho, Marielle Montenegro, Renz Kenneth Santos, Sean Benjamin Gonzales, Ezekiel Oliveros, Master Charles Janda, Raniel Bautista, Sophia Manalang, Marie Andrea Hugo, Anthony Gallardo, Gabriel Reyes, Christian Kyle Santos, Alexandra Xhyriel, Baby Judy Paguraya at Alyssa Quezada.

Ang iba pang medalists ay sina Alliah Dela Cruz, Jeanne Calayag, Elijah Lozano, Daevid  Buccal, Shan Medina, Ashton Clyde Jose, Carl Parmisana, Janet de Alba, Melissa May Yu, Mary Rayalene Cahiles, Kate Moscosa, Alyza Balleza, Ted Tolentino, Max Rosario at Rupert Nunez.

Samantala, pormal nang iginawad kina Heather White ng British School Manila ang Female Most Improved Swimmer award at Marc Bryan Dula ng Weisenheimer Aca­demy ang Male Promising Swimmer trophy kahapon sa pa­ngunguna ni Papa at PSL Secretary General Maria Susan Benasa.
