Duty and country first

-

MANILA, Philippines - Two thumbs up for the Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief General Victor Ibrado, following his pronouncement that the entire military organization will obey our Constitution and to remain professional and apolitical. With this firm declaration it will probably discourage those groups who have planned to use the military for their agenda and inspire confidence for the Filipinos.

Your tasks as a father of thousands of military personnel are a tough job that you outperform. Such conviction you showed conveys to us that the citizens can still depend on the military and that there will be no recurrence of 2003 and 2007 destabilization plots.

The Armed Forces’ commitment to rout the enemies of the state and to protect us from the threat groups is enough reason for us to hold on to the military’s dedication in performing their mission in our nation. We count on the AFP to be true to its word to follow the Constitution. Alexander J. Calumpat, Commonwealth, Quezon City
