DNR accepts OJTs on wildlife conservation

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) said it will accept student interns that will focus on wildlife conservation.

This developed after the BMB signed a memoranda of agreement with officials of Our Lady of Fatima University and the Nueva Vizcaya State University on allowing students to hold internship at Wildlife Rescue Center at the Ninoy Aquino Park and Wildlife Center.

BMB Director Theresa Mundita Lim said these graduating Biology and Veterinary Medicine students coming from the two schools will assist them in wildlife rescue. “Apart from this, they can also do some biological research work,” she added.

Lim said, “This is good since the move will instill awareness on the students concerning wildlife conservation. To institutionalize the partnership between BMB and the schools will also mean expanding the bureau’s support system.”
