If you are asking ‘how can I help?’

I have many facebook friends who ask, “how can I help?” in putting our country right.

The simple answer is to be in Luneta on April 2,2017. From 4pm till midnight. If you can bring friends better still but if not go alone to show how much you love our country and our President not to allow to return to the status quo.  The organizer of this rally after all is an individual  among others, the artist and singer.  Jimmy Bondoc. Helping him is Arnel Ignacio with his inimitable humor if you want a good laugh.

Kami, bilang karaniwang tao, ay nagtatawag ng rally na walang pondo kundi ang padala ng taumbayan!

Lahat kami sa D.A.V.A.O. Movement ay karaniwang tao na pagod na sa bulok na sistema ng gobyerno. But we promise you and our God this: that we will be good men. Good men who are doing something, when faced with kababayans who don’t want change or reform,“ the organizers said.

“Last May 7 when we attended the Duterte miting de abanse in Luneta in 2016 we did not expect such a big crowd. No one expected it that as much as a million crowd would attend. But we have faith in good Filipinos. They will be there,”sabi ni Bondoc. “Hindi tayo pupunta sa Luneta upang ipababa ang presyo ng gasoline. Isa lang ito sa magagawa natin kung may lider gaya ni Pangulong Duterte kung magsasama –sama tayo.”

“Hindi ko alam kung bakit kami ay nilagay ng Panginoon sa posisyon ganito.

Ngunit dahil pinagkatiwala ninyo sa amin, ako ay mangangako sa inyong lahat, kalaban man o kakampi na ito ay laban para sa kinabukasan ng lahat.”

To me that was what Luneta on May 7, 2016 was all about. The unforgettable moment victory for the people was captured by an aerial picture of the million-plus crowd who attended. It was so spectacular I put it as the cover photo of my facebook blog.

It was about Shirky’s “Here comes Everybody” based on the principle of organizing without organizations.

It was only that picture which would be powerful enough to show how we have moved our nation building forward.

If we hesitate and delay the change we want, we will return to the status quo.

It is my opinion that a successful strategy for the crowds in Luneta is for Duterte to act as a strong leader to put the politicians and oligarchs in line while CJ Puno will form the committee of constitutionalists and expert begin the work for a new constitution. There should be no oligarchs or other vested interests in this committee. What we should have in the panel are representatives of various sectors.

But first things first. We go to Luneta on April 2 while Digong and his government prepare the ground for a new age for Filipinos with a new constitution but it must be soon or we lose the momentum for reform. Rallies and protests are good but these are not sufficient.

We cannot let this chance of reforming our country go by. We may never have this chance again to have a leader who will put down his life and well-being for the reforms needed by the country.

President Duterte is besieged by his campaign against drug lords and the proliferation of drugs all over the country. As he dug deeper into his investigation he found that politicians themselves were protecting drug lords using drug money for elections.

It strikes at the very heart of government. Do we let criminals escape punishment or do we strike with force to stop their evil deeds while there is still time?

Drug lords and bad government are twins that have sunk the country.

This is a war between good and evil, between criminals, murderer and rapists and innocent victims. Whose side will you take? It is about national self-defense. President Duterte’s mission is how to change a country into which crime does not pay.

Because we lived in the heart of London for 20 years, we were not surprised that it should happen again. For whatever reason, the attack as one newspaper put it was “Terrorist on the rampage with chilling footage of the attacker in a car speeding along the pavement of Westminster Bridge.” A woman who was walking on the pavement jumped into the River Thames to save her life. She was saved.

But not so with a policeman who was stabbed to death by the terrorist as the number of deaths at press time was said to be five with 20 injured. Among the victims were French students and Korean tourists.

The intruder/ terrorist was armed with a knife when he managed to break into the grounds of Parliament and stabbed a police officer before he was shot, reports said. More than 10 people are said to have been hit by the car, a '4x4' intent to kill pedestrians and cyclists on the pavement.

Just the day before bombing, my daughter, Veronica was in Parliament listening and speaking to peace experts and scholars on why women should be active in the peace processes including in Mindanao.

President Obama, who was expected to end wars and violence in the world expressed their disappointment. Instead of warfare he championed drone strikes. As drone-warrior-in-chief, he spread the use of drones outside the declared battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq, mainly to Pakistan and Yemen.

Obama authorized over 10 times more drone strikes than George W Bush, and “automatically pointed to all males of military age in these regions as combatants and subjects of “controlled” killing.”

Given that drones account for only a small portion of the munitions dropped in the past eight years, the numbers of civilians killed by Obama’s bombs could be in the thousands. But we can’t know for sure as the administration, and the mainstream media, has been virtually silent about the civilian toll of the administration’s failed interventions.

A victim of Obama's first drone strike said: 'I am the living example of what drones are'. That makes accusations against the so-called EJKs in the Philippines unfair yet it was condemned in the UN.

Among Obama’s successful feats of diplomacy are the Iran nuclear deal and the opening of diplomatic relations with Cuba as examples of the uses of diplomacy.
