Cpl. Don Carlos Almonidovar, 37, of the General Trias police, was transferred to the Cavite police administration and records management unit by Brig. Gen. Dominic Baccay, Calabarzon police director.

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A police officer has been relieved from his post for reporting a false robbery incident implicating two college students in Trece Martires, Cavite.

Cpl. Don Carlos Almonidovar, 37, of the General Trias police, was transferred to the Cavite police administration and records management unit by Brig. Gen. Dominic Baccay, Calabarzon police director.

The relief order stemmed from a complaint of physical injuries and grave threats filed by Ace Guadalupe, 20, and Andrie Lape, 19, whom Almonidovar falsely accused of robbery.

The complainants said Almonidovar rearended their motorcycle as they were traveling along Governor’s Drive in Barangay San Agustin on Friday night.

Almonidovar filed a report at the Trece Martires police, stating the complainants were involved in robbery, but the investigator on-duty said otherwise.

National Police Commission-Calabarzon chief Owen de Luna has tasked a special investigator to look into the case.
