‘OPM is very much alive’ at OPM Con Generations 2026

MANILA, Philippines — From Chito Miranda to Bamboo, the powerful and iconic collaboration of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) greats and P-pop acts took center stage at this year’s OPM Con Generations 2026, held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The night kicked off with an adrenaline-fueled performance by P-pop boy group Alamat, composed of Taneo, Mo, Jao, Tomás, R-Ji and Alas. The group also delivered a memorable rendition of Salamat alongside The Dawn frontman Jett Pangan.

Alamat shared that they were grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Jett and said they felt honored to be part of the ever-evolving OPM scene.

Sam Concepcion makes a surprise appearance, joining KAIA for a mesmerizing performance of Dati.

“Ang sarap sa feeling na kasama ko ang mga ka-edad ko,” Jett quipped. “Yung mga magulang diyan taas ang kamay. But honestly, hearing from artists like you guys, nakakatuwa para sa amin. Kasi kapag nakakakita ako na group like yours Alamat, mas napapatunayan na tuloy-tuloy talaga ang OPM. It’s very much alive. Hindi siya para sa isang generation lang, bawat panahon may bagong tunog, may bagong dala.”

The OPM gathering continued with electrifying sets from P-pop girl groups XONARA, KAIA and G22.

A sea of red lights illuminated the venue as XONARA emerged on stage for the first time at The Big Dome. The girls, Eurekah, Ella, Dominique, Tin, Megumi, Lei and Namie, also seized the opportunity to introduce their upcoming single, Pula, to the audience.

Sam Concepcion also made a surprise appearance, joining KAIA members Angela, Charlotte, Sophia, Alexa and Charice for a mesmerizing performance of Dati.

Meanwhile, G22’s AJ, Alfea and Jaz delivered a swagger-filled, high-energy set featuring Groove On, Super Saiyan and Pa-Pa-Pa-Palaban.

Alamat delivers a memorable rendition of Salamat alongside The Dawn frontman Jett Pangan.

Alamat, XONARA, KAIA, and G22 assembled on stage to conclude their set with the former’s Maharani.

Keeping the momentum alive, the next segment of the concert featured hits from alternative rock band SunKissed Lola and rappers Flow G and Skusta Clee.

It marked SunKissed Lola’s first appearance on the OPM Con stage. The band was accompanied by a chorale for several of their songs and welcomed Kiyo as a guest performer for White Toyota.

Vocalist Laura Lacbain told the crowd, “Our next song is for all who are in the yearning stage. Kung may crush ka at hindi pa niya alam na crush mo siya, umamin ka na. Malay mo naman gusto ka rin niya.” They then launched into Paki Sabi and Pasilyo.

On the other hand, Flow G made a dramatic entrance as he brought his drift car onto the stage while performing Driftstar. The scene-stealing vehicle was the same one he featured in the music video for the track.

The highlight of his set came when Chito Miranda of Parokya ni Edgar joined him on stage and serenaded concertgoers with Kasama and Harana.

“Natupad na naman ang pangarap ko na maka-duet ang isang Chito Miranda,” Flow G then mouthed.

Fellow rapper Skusta Clee had his own special collaboration moment when South Border’s Jay Durias shared the stage with him for Ikaw Nga and Sa Susunod Na Lang.

“These songs are special to me. Ang artist na nagbigay ng maraming kwento sa buhay natin, soundtrack na nagbigay ng kwento sa buhay natin. At pag narinig niyo siya siguradong mararamdaman niyo na nasa bahay kayo ng OPM,” Skusta Clee said of Jay.

Yuri Dope also joined Skusta Clee for the succeeding tracks, while Flow G later appeared to deliver their collaboration track Since Day One.

SB19 teams up with Bamboo for an energetic cover of the timeless classic Tatsulok.

Aside from entertaining the audience with their smash hits, Ben&Ben joined forces with one of their “biggest musical heroes,” Armi Millare, for the heartfelt songs Pagtingin and Tadhana.

Ben&Ben also crooned fan favorites Araw-Araw, Lifetime, Leaves, Paninindigan Kita and Saranggola, among others.

The finale act came with a bang as SB19 mounted high-octane performances of Gento, Emoji, Memories and Crimzone, earning loud cheers from A’TIN.

During their segment, Stell acknowledged Puregold’s Vincent Co among the crowd, who days later tied the knot with actress Bea Alonzo. “Miss na miss na po namin kayo maka-bonding Sir Vincent. Basketball daw kayo ni Pablo.  Happy, happy birthday po Sir Vincent… Sana matupad na ang inyong birthday wish with us and of course with Puregold,” Stell told Vincent.

Another unforgettable collaboration unfolded when the “Kings of P-pop” teamed up with Bamboo for an energetic cover of the timeless classic Tatsulok, amplifying the intense atmosphere inside the venue.

To cap off the OPM celebration, all the artists gathered on stage for a rousing finale performance of SB19’s VISA.
