MANILA, Philippines — Despite heavy rainfall on Friday, the floods in the National Capital Region receded fast with all the pumping stations in the NCR working, the Department of Public Works and Highways said.

DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said the reported flooding in Metro Manila due to Typhoon Inday and the monsoon did not last for hours as all pumping stations were operational.

Dizon said the flood-prone areas, such as Padre Faura and Remedios Streets in Manila and G. Araneta Avenue in Quezon City, were cleared of floodwater after the rains stopped.

He noted that pumping stations in Manila, Valenzuela, Pasay, Quezon City and other areas in NCR were working.
