MANILA, Philippines — The fiancé of a missing bride-to-be from Quezon City is now being considered by police as a person of interest in her disappearance.

While he is also under investigation, Quezon City Police District director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio clarified that Mark Arjay Reyes is still not being eyed as a suspect.

Reyes’ girlfriend, Sherra de Juan, went missing four days before they were scheduled to wed.

Silvio said it is normal for police to categorize Reyes as a person of interest as he was the last one who had contact with De Juan before she disappeared on Dec. 10.

“He is being investigated, but he is not a suspect,” Silvio said in a phone interview.

Silvio pointed out that Reyes, who went public seeking help to locate De Juan, is cooperating in the probe.

De Juan was last seen in front of a gasoline station in Barangay North Fairview.  Closed-circuit television footage showed her boarding a bus.

Probers are waiting for the result of the forensic examination on De Juan’s cell phone.

In a Facebook post yesterday, Reyes said the cash reward for any information on De Juan’s whereabouts is now P150,000.
