MANILA, Philippines — Three Chinese nationals allegedly operating a hotel-based cryptocurrency scam in Manila have been arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Chen Jinhao, 27; Yang Chao Wen, 37, and Yu Sun, 50, were apprehended on Nov. 7 in a hotel in Sta. Cruz.
The alleged Chinese scammers reportedly targeted investors in Hong Kong, with Chen serving as manager and Yang as supervisor.
Chen and Yang are overstaying foreigners, the BI said.
The suspects are detained at the BI warden facility in Taguig pending deportation.
