5 drug den operators nabbed in Cotabato
COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Five people were arrested following a raid on a suspected drug den in this city on Friday afternoon, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The raid in an apartment in Barangay Rosary Heights 4 was based on information provided by a civilian, who told PDEA agents that drug sessions were being conducted in the area.
The PDEA has yet to identify the suspects, who reportedly operate the drug den.
Before the raid, an undercover agent of the PDEA bought 15 grams of shabu from one of the suspects, according to Gil Cesario Castro, chief of the PDEA-Bangsamoro region.
Meanwhile, in Iloilo City, shabu with an estimated street value of P1.3 million was seized in a sting in Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala.
Police arrested a drug suspect, identified only as Ernesto, whose companion managed to escape.
Seized from the suspect were 14 plastic sachets containing shabu and marked money.
