Cop shot dead by mother-in-law
COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A police officer was allegedly shot dead by his mother-in-law in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat on Wednesday afternoon.
Reports said the suspect used her son-in-law’s service pistol in killing him.
Maj. Aljun Besario, chief of the President Quirino police, yesterday told journalists that his subordinate, S/Sgt. Bobby Nanali, died from a gunshot in the abdomen.
Probers said that before the shooting, Nanali and his wife figured in a spat at their house in Barangay Poblacion.
Nanali’s wife allegedly grabbed her husband’s service firearm and handed it over to her mother.
Witnesses said they heard a gunshot coming from the couple’s house.
Besario said the suspect surrendered to responding police officers and village officials.
