MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) has heightened security measures at its Grade School campus after messages threatening violence circulated on Monday, October 19, 2026.

In a statement issued by the AdZU Grade School Department on Sunday, October 18, the school administration confirmed that while security officials are taking the circulating reports seriously, they have not identified a substantiated threat based on verified information so far.

“Nevertheless, we continue to assess the information received and have coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) for further verification and appropriate action,” ADZU’s statement read.

Security protocols at the school’s Kreutz Campus have already been bolstered with strict entry screening, metal detector checks, X-ray baggage inspections, and controlled access points. As a preventive measure, the university is further reinforcing perimeter security and deploying additional roving security personnel throughout the campus.

If they have concerns or reports to share, parents and guardians are advised to contact the Grade School Prefect of Discipline, Geraldine Grajo:
