SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines – At least P9 million worth of counterfeit television units were confiscated by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority agents during a search last week.

CIDG chief Capt. Jan Michael Jardin said the operatives found the fake TV sets during the search in the facility of Enjoy Electronics Subic International along Corregidor Highway of the Subic Bay Freeport.

Operatives found 40 boxes of TV panel boards, 50 boxes of back covers, 25 boxes of motherboards and 41 fake TV sets. Also seized from the facility were 313 TV front covers, 100 speakers, 310 power cords and 4,000 power boards, among other TV-related items.

Jardin said the search was conducted after Manila Regional Trial Court Judge Sheryll Dolendo Tulabing issued a warrant for violation of Section 155 in relation to Section 170 of Republic Act 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines), specifically on trademark infringement.

CIDG operatives are looking for Enjoy Electronics Subic International officials identified as treasurer Zuhai Huang and shareholders Wang Teng Teng, Huang Xiaoping and Huang Wufa – all said to be residents of Ilanin West District in Subic.
