P6.69 million shabu seized; village councilman held for drugs

MANILA, Philippines —  Shabu valued at P6.69 million was seized in the cities of Cebu and Iloilo on Tuesday.

In Cebu, anti-narcotics police officers confiscated 705 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P4.79 million in Barangay Capitol Site at around 7 p.m., Central Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said.

Aberin said the illegal drugs were recovered from an alias Mike, after he transacted with undercover agents.

In Iloilo, 280 grams of shabu valued at P1.9 million were confiscated from a certain Ronald, Rodalyn and Jhemmark in a sting in Barangay Sto. Nino Norte at 10:42 a.m.

In Zamboanga Sibugay, Jomar Ali-Jailani, 48, councilman of Barangay Poblacion in Ipil town, was arrested for alleged possession of shabu worth P340,000, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency(PDEA)-Zamboanga peninsula director Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc said.

The PDEA said Jailani ranked third on the list of most wanted drug suspects in the region.
