Magnitude 4.9 quake hits Mindoro

MANILA, Philippines —  An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 struck Occidental Mindoro yesterday.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was recorded 13 kilometers north of Abra de Ilog at 4:46 a.m.

Phivolcs said damage is expected from the quake, which was felt at Intensity 4 or moderately strong in Abra de Ilog and Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro.

The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro.

Instrumental intensity 2 was recorded in Tagaytay in Cavite and Intensity 1 in Batangas City, Cuenca, Mataasnakahoy and San Luis in Batangas.
