MANILA, Philippines — The Las Piñas City prosecutor’s office has indicted a 15-year-old boy who allegedly killed his four-year-old nephew and stuffed the toddler’s body in a washing machine late last month.
Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, said the city prosecutor has recommended the filing of murder charges before the court against the suspect.
“Based on the resolution issued by the fiscal, it shows he acted with discernment,” Santos said in an interview over Radyo Pilipinas, noting the boy was evaluated by a social welfare officer and a psychologist.
As the suspect is a minor, Santos said he will be committed to the Manila Boystown Complex in Marikina City until he is 18, when “criminal proceedings will commence.”
Santos said the suspect was influenced by a movie about Jeffrey Dahmer, an American serial killer and sex offender.
Probers have screenshots of the boy’s conversations with 28 people on Facebook wherein he admitted to have killed the victim.
