Batangas town village chief slain

MANILA, Philippines — A barangay captain in Lemery, Batangas was gunned down on Tuesday afternoon.

Enrico Renwick Razon, 59, of Barangay District III and his companions were in a Toyota Fortuner in Barangay Ayao-Iyao when they were shot at around 5 p.m.

Police said unidentified motorycle-riding men approached Razon’s vehicle and opened fire.

Razon was pronounced dead on arrival at the Metro-Lemery Medical Center.

In Bukidnon, Daniel Ocot, 60, and his wife Adelaida, 66, were shot dead while sleeping in a cargo truck in Maramag yesterday.

Col. Reynante Reyes, Bukidnon police director, said probers still have no leads on the perpetrators and motive for the killing. – Arnell Ozaeta, Gerry Lee Gorit
