Woman, 60, held for stealing laptop
MANILA, Philippines — A senior citizen and her cohort were arrested after they were caught stealing a laptop worth P39,500 from a computer store in Quezon City on Wednesday.
Irene Maguigad, 60, was nabbed by employees and security guards after she was recorded on video hiding the laptop under her skirt.
Maguigad and her accomplice, Vince Borsoto, 29, were collared as they attempted to escape from the computer store in Barangay Valencia, according to a report from the Cubao police station 7.
Probers said the suspects entered the store and posed as customers.
While Borsoto was pretending to be checking some items, Maguigad took the laptop and placed it under her skirt.
The store’s marketing manager alerted security guards, who arrested the suspects after a brief chase.
During questioning, the suspects admitted that they planned to sell the laptop online.
The suspects are being held on theft charges.
