2 slain in Quezon attack

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Two men were shot dead in Candelaria, Quezon on Saturday night.

Alexander Perez, 18, and Jimber Perez, 17, were declared dead on arrival at the Peter Paul Medical Center due to gunshot wounds in the body, according to Lt. Col. Dennis de Leon, town police chief.

De Leon said a manhunt was launched for the suspects, identified as John Peter de Villa, 23, and Ronnick Pasahol.

The suspects were positively identified by the relatives of the victims as well as by eyewitnesses, he said.

Investigation showed the victims were standing in front of a vulcanizing shop in Barangay Poblacion when they were killed at around 8:20 p.m.

Probers are eyeing an old grudge as the motive for the killing.
