Part of Imelda Bridge closed for a month

MANILA, Philippines — A portion of Imelda Bridge’s northbound lane along Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Parañaque will be closed at night for a month starting tomorrow, the city government said yesterday.

In a traffic advisory, the Parañaque City Traffic and Parking Management said the bridge segment will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. until Nov. 10 to give way to the installation of railroad tracks and overhead catenary system for the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite extension project.

The activity will require the casting of concrete plinths and pedestals, it added.

Meanwhile, the Light Rail Manila Corp. said there will be a temporary closure of the innermost lane of the Cavitex-Parañaque Bridge from 7 a.m. on Oct. 15 to 11 a.m. the next day due to construction updates and column pier works for the LRT-1 Cavite extension.
