Suspect in slay of girl, 16, in Cavite arrested
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A construction worker tagged in the murder of a 16-year-old girl, whose body was found under a bridge in Trece Martires, Cavite on Monday, was arrested in Bulacan on Wednesday.
Elden Alegria, 33, was apprehended by personnel of the Trece Martires and Bulacan police in Sitio Aldaba Hills in Barangay Manuyan, San Jose del Monte City, Col. Christopher Olazo, Cavite police director, said.
He said Alegria’s relatives identified as Joy Necesito, 37, and Pepito Baluran, 51, were also arrested for obstruction of justice and harboring a criminal.
Alegria, who did not resist arrest, executed an extrajudicial confession admitting the crime. “Nakilala ako ng biktima, kaya ko siya pinatay,” probers quoted the suspect as saying.
