Marcos appoints new DICT officials

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has designated new officials of the cybercrime unit of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles announced yesterday the appointments of Alexander Ramos and Mary Rose Magsaysay as Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC)’s executive director and deputy executive director, respectively.

Also appointed as CICC directors were Patricia May Abejo, Rajun Hosillos and Alvin Miro Navarro.

The CICC was created by virtue of Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. It is chaired by the DICT secretary.

Among the CICC’s functions are to formulate a national cybersecurity plan and facilitate international cooperation on intelligence regarding cybersecurity matters.
