5 die in Isabela road mishap

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — Five persons including a baby died while two others were injured after a truck rammed a tricycle and a motorcycle in Tumauini, Isabela on Saturday afternoon.

Police identified the fatalities as tricycle driver Arnel Menor, 36; his wife Diana Rose, 36, and their six-month-old son Prince Adrian; Ernesto Caronan, 71, and Kuldiph Singh, 38.

Caronan was a passenger in Menor’s tricycle while Singh was driving a motorcycle when they figured in the accident in Barangay Balug.

Rushed to the Tumauini Community Hospital for treatment of injuries were Elma Caronan, 64, and Oliver Zamora, 29.

Police arrested the truck driver, who was reportedly drunk.
