4 crime ring members nabbed in Makati

MANILA, Philippines — Four members of a criminal ring allegedly involved in gunrunning, robberies and drug trafficking in southern Metro Manila were arrested in Makati on Friday.

Angelito Dangan, 48; Jose Arandia, 38; Arnold Bautista, 33, and Nelson Padilla, 43, were apprehended during an anti-crime operation in Barangay Guadalupe Viejo.

Southern Police District director Col. Kirby Kraft said the suspects allegedly had links with the “Boyong” criminal group tagged as responsible for the strings of robberies and gunrunning deals in southern Metro Manila.

Police said they recovered a 38-caliber handgun and P80,000 worth of shabu from the suspects.
