P272 million shabu seized in La Union

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents seized 40 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P272 million in San Fernando, La Union yesterday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the illegal drugs were recovered from Romel Layse, 38, and John Rupuesto, 18, in Barangay Poro at around 12:30 p.m.

The suspects allegedly negotiated a deal with an undercover agent for P3 million worth of shabu.

Several identification cards and documents were also reportedly recovered from the two.

In Albay, PDEA provincial officer Noel Briguel said shabu worth P3.4 million was confiscated from Mark Dave Lonsame and his partner Erigen Villanueva on Thursday.

In Camarines Sur, the Bicol police said Cristita Pontarom was arrested in Barangay Manguiring in Calabangan for possession of 205 grams of shabu valued at P1.39 million. – Cet Dematera
