Central Luzon PNP braces for in-person classes

Ric Sapnu - The Philippine Star

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — The entire police force in Central Luzon is preparing security measures to ensure the safety of teachers and students during the resumption of in-person classes in public and private schools in August.

“We guarantee the public that we are ready to safeguard learners, teachers and education stakeholders when classes resume as we expect more people to go out, not only in learning institutions, but also in other public places,” Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, Central Luzon police director, said.

He said the police would coordinate with the Deartment of Education and other agencies on the measures to be implemented not only during school days but also in case of emergency situations.

Baccay reminded the public to observe minimum health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID and other infectious diseases.

More than 5,000 public and private schools in Central Luzon are set to conduct in-person classes in August.
