MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police disclosed that its Cebu operatives captured the region's eighth most wanted person earlier this weekend, its chief said in a statement sent to reporters on Sunday morning.

Police Gen. Dionardo Carlos, PNP chief announced the arrest of 30-year-old Jeffrey Talisic Pepito, alias Jonas, during a police operation conducted by personnel of Police Station 8 Cebu City Police Office in Brgy. Capitol, Cebu City.

Pepito, a resident of Barangay Lipata, Minglanilla, was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by Presiding Judge Lucila Martinez Cad Enjambre, Regional Trial Court, 7th Judicial Region, Branch 89, Mandaue City, Cebu for the crime of Murder and Frustrated Murder.

The accused was brought to Police Station 8-Cebu City Police Office for documentation and proper disposition.

"I commend our operatives in Central Visayas for another successful extensive manhunt operation to bring MWP to the folds of justice and have the arrested suspect accountable for the crimes he committed," Carlos said in the statement.

“Our police will continue to pursue those who are hiding and are held accountable by law to ensure that appropriate justice is given to their victims,” Carlos added.
