Calabarzon crime rate drops
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The crime rate in Calabarzon dropped in the past six months.
“There is a decrease in the crime rate by 1.17 percent or 300 incidents compared to July to December 2020 with 25,672,” Calabarzon police director Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz said, citing the report of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division.
Based on the report, 14,850 or 96.15 percent of cases were cleared and 12,735 or 82.45 percent were solved from July to December.
“I always see to it that cases are solved with utmost dedication because that is what a law enforcer should do. We give justice to the families of victims and put behind bars the criminals,” Cruz said.
He cited the resolution of the death of barangay captain Lorena de Jesus of Kanluran in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on Nov. 22.
A case was filed before the city prosecutor’s office against two suspects on Dec. 15.
“Hindi kami titigil sa pagtugis sa mga kriminal upang masigurado namin na ang mamamayan ng Calabarzon ay makakatulog nang mahimbing, nang walang pangamba sa kanilang seguridad,” Cruz added.
