MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has commended the local governments of Caloocan and Pateros for vaccinating 100 percent of their target population.

DOH National Capital Region director Gloria Balboa awarded certificates of recognition to Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan and Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce III on Monday.

The DOH also recognized the city governments of Navotas and Caloocan for taking part in the first phase of the national vaccination program dubbed “Bayanihan Bakunahan” from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.

Navotas and Caloocan sent vaccination teams to Obando, Bulacan to help in the national government’s inoculation drive.

Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco thanked the DOH for acknowledging their efforts in vaccinating more Filipinos.

Tiangco called on his constituents who have not not received COVID-19 jabs to get vaccinated amid the threat posed by the Omicron variant.
