BOC turns over P8.6 million party drugs to PDEA

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday P8.6 million in ecstasy tablets and ketamine the BOC seized in an operation in Pasay City recently.

In a statement, the BOC said the party drugs came in three parcels: 100 tablets with a street value of P170,000 in a letter from Netherland consigned to Angeli Khang from Tondo, Manila; 4,447 ecstasy tablets valued at P7.5 million concealed in a turntable from Germany declared as children’s toys, school bags, hot water bottle, shoes, hat and color pencils and consigned to Patricia Reyes; and 178.5 grams of ketamine valued at P892,500 in a water filter from Malaysia consigned to Ferdie Santos.

The BOC said its examiners inspected the shipments after receiving reports on the alleged presence of illegal drugs. The identified consignees will charged with violating anti-drug and customs laws, according to the bureau.
