ECQ ayuda payout in Metro Manila completed – DILG
MANILA, Philippines — The distribution of ayuda or cash aid to low-income families who were affected by the imposition of the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila has been completed, a Cabinet official reported yesterday.
During a meeting of the government’s pandemic task force on Wednesday, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said a total of P11.22 billion has been disbursed to beneficiaries in the region.
Año said about P29.4 million in cash assistance allocated for Makati was returned to the Bureau of Treasury.
“Makati has distributed cash aid to all beneficiaries in its list as well as qualified residents who submitted applications to its grievance and appeals committee,” Año said. “Since there are no additional claimants, the city government returned the remaining amount to the Bureau of Treasury.”
More than 87 percent of the funds or P2.362 billion intended for Laguna residents have been distributed, according to Año.
Out of 30 municipalities nationwide, 19 have completed the lockdown aid distribution, he said.
