Boy, 6, dies after being bitten by cobra

ASINGAN, Pangasinan, Philippines — A six-year-old boy died after he was bitten by a cobra in Barangay Carusucan Norte in this town on Sunday.

Initial investigation showed Leonard Beltran had just eaten lunch and was having siesta with his father when a cobra appeared from their window and bit the boy in the head.

The boy was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

The father of the victim and their neighbors killed the cobra, which was later found hiding in a hole near their house.
