Cebu Pacific says 95% of flying crew vaccinated
MANILA, Philippines — Budget carrier Cebu Pacific is on track to complete the inoculation of its employees by October, with 95 percent of its pilots and cabin crew now vaccinated, the airline announced yesterday.
Cebu Pacific said it administered the second doses of COVID-19 vaccines to some employees last Aug. 26.
The rest of the employees are expected to receive their second doses this month. Overall, 93 percent of Cebu Pacific’s total workforce have been inoculated.
“It is our pleasure to keep doing what we can to ensure that our own people are protected so our passengers will be able to fly worry-free with us,” Cebu Pacific vice president for people department Felix Lopez said.
Cebu Pacific’s COVID protect program is part of the Gokongwei Group’s initiative for all its business units.
Under the program, Cebu Pacific’s employees receive free vaccines along with their dependents as well as third-party workers.
The airline has been coordinating with local government units to boost their vaccination program.
Cebu Pacific said it has transported over 16.5 million vaccine doses to the Philippines, on top of over eight million doses flown to 24 provinces across the country.
