Health worker probed over viral vaccination video

Eva Visperas - The Philippine Star

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — A health worker in Candon, Ilocos Sur has been placed under preventive suspension after she was caught on video inoculating a resident against COVID-19 inside a car.

The video, which has gone viral, shows the health worker and the person she was vaccinating not wearing face mask and face shield.

Mayor Ericson Singson said the city government is not condoning the incident.

“A recommendation was given and approved placing the concerned employee under preventive suspension while waiting for the result of the full investigation... to provide the individuals involved the benefit of due process... and pave the way for the filing of appropriate charges against them,” Singson said.

He reminded the public that any irregularity in the vaccination program would not be tolerated.

Singson said the city government is doing its best to improve the system in vaccination sites and ensure that all members of the eligible population would get their COVID jabs.
