2 killed in South Cotabato drug sting

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines — Two drug suspects who allegedly resisted arrest and fired at anti-narcotics operatives were shot dead in Polomolok town on Thursday.

Police said Orly and Jay-ar, both surnamed Abpit, drew their guns when they sensed they had transacted with undercover agents in Purok Hechanova in Barangay Poblacion.

Lt. Col. Alex Joe Orcajada, Polomolok municipal police chief, said two .38-caliber revolvers and four sachets of shabu were recovered from the fatalities.

The incident preceded the arrest of Clint John Caligdong, who sold P34,000 worth of shabu to policemen who posed as buyers, in Barangay General Paulino Santos in Koronadal City.
