MANILA, Philippines — Two drug suspects were killed in an alleged shootout with anti-narcotics agents in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija on Friday.

Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group director Brig. Gen Remus Medina said two kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P14 million were seized from Dennis Kue and Percival Miranda.

Medina said a caliber .45 pistol, a 9mm and various identification cards were also recovered from the fatalities.

Pursuit operations for the companion of the suspects identified as Joel Kue are underway.

Medina said the suspects are connected with Arthur Abdul, who was among two persons killed in a shootout with policemen in Pasig City last week. Twenty-two kilos of shabu worth P149.6 million were recovered in the operation.

Medina said the fatalities were distributors of illegal drugs in Metro Manila, Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

In Lanao del Sur, Kareem Usop Abedin was killed in a drug sting in Picong town, also on Friday.

M/Sgt. Rafael Abdulah and Pat. Melvin Habiling and Richard Nicolas of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group were wounded when a 40 millimeter grenade projectile fired by one of the suspects exploded.

Twenty-three sachets of shabu and two M16 rifles were recovered at the scene.
