Caloocan barangay placed on lockdown

Marc Jayson Cayabyab - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan yesterday placed Barrio Pacita in Barangay 95 on extreme lockdown amid the rising cases of COVID-19.

Malapitan signed an executive order putting the area on extreme enhanced community quarantine until May 2.

At least 87 COVID-19 cases were recorded in the area since March 11, according to the city health department.

Residents affected by the week-long lockdown will be given relief goods, Malapitan said.

City hall will conduct swab tests and contact tracing during the lockdown.
