Isabela policewoman held for husband’s murder

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — The head of the women and children’s protection desk at the Echague police station in Isabela was arrested on Thursday in connection with the killing of her husband in April.

The arrest warrant for S/Sgt. Marilou Alingog was issued by Echague Regional Trial Court Judge Bonifacio Ong. He did not recommend bail.

Alingog is the alleged mastermind in the killing of her estranged husband Lt. Col. Danilo Alingog during the campaign when he ran for councilor.

Probers are eyeing a love triangle as the motive for the killing.
