200 houses destroyed in Boracay fire
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Around 200 houses were destroyed in a fire that hit a residential area in Boracay on Thursday.
Fire Inspector Mary Angelie Bolocon, Bureau of Fire Protection-Western Visayas spokesperson, said the fire, which broke out at around 8:45 a.m., was declared out after more than two hours.
Bolocon said damage to property was initially estimated at P20 million.
It was the second fire that hit Boracay in less than two weeks.
